Privacy Policy
Vereda Ventures LLC · Effective August 2026
FunctionOps is in beta testing and is not a finished product. Features, data structures, and this policy itself can change, and the app can break or lose data, without notice, while beta testing continues.
FunctionOps may require you to update to the current version of the app before you can continue using it. If you use or continue to use an older version without updating, you do so entirely at your own risk. We make no representations regarding the safety, accuracy, or functionality of any version other than the current release and accept no responsibility for any issue — including bugs, data loss, or security vulnerabilities — arising from use of an outdated version.
We do not warrant that FunctionOps will be available, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities at any given time.
FunctionOps is NOT HIPAA-compliant, and is not intended, designed, or certified to store Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. We have not conducted a HIPAA risk assessment, we do not sign Business Associate Agreements, and no field in the app is built to hold patient or resident health information. Do not enter any patient/resident health information into FunctionOps under any circumstances — see "What FunctionOps Is" below.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with third parties for their own use. As described in "How We Use Information" and "Sharing" below, we do use data collected through the app for internal purposes — improving and expanding FunctionOps and internal research into how the app is used — but that data stays with us and is never sold, rented, licensed, or shared to any outside company or person for marketing, advertising, or any other third-party purpose.
This policy covers data we collect and disclose. It does not govern Apple's own data practices under iOS, which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Who We Are
FunctionOps is developed by Vereda Ventures LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we," "us," "our").
What FunctionOps Is
FunctionOps is an internal operations tool for regional oversight of nursing/rehabilitation facilities ("buildings"). It is provided to a single operating company (the "Operating Company") for use by its own employees — Regional Vice Presidents and their team members — to track building status, watch items, compliance items, staff recognitions, and regional visits.
Accounts are not self-service. You cannot sign up for FunctionOps yourself. The developer creates your account and issues you a username and temporary password.
FunctionOps is a workforce/operations tool, not a medical records system, and is not HIPAA compliant. It is not designed, built, assessed, or certified to store Protected Health Information (PHI), and no field in the app is intended to hold it. Do not enter patient/resident names, diagnoses, medical record numbers, treatment information, or any other health information about the people your facility serves into any field in this app. If PHI is ever entered into FunctionOps despite this restriction, we make no representation that it is handled in a manner compliant with HIPAA or any other health-data law, and we disclaim responsibility for that non-compliant use.
FunctionOps is currently in beta testing. It is an early-stage, actively-changing product. Data structures, features, and this policy may change without notice during the beta period, and we do not guarantee against data loss, downtime, or bugs while beta testing is ongoing.
Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information
- Name, username, employment position/role, and the buildings and permissions your administrator assigns to your account.
- Your password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) — we never see or store your password in plain text.
Operational Content You Enter
- Watch items, compliance items, staff recognitions, and regional visit records — including any free-text notes, titles, and dates entered by you or other authorized users.
- Staff names entered into Recognition records refer to employees being recognized for their work, not to residents or patients.
- A record of who created, updated, or resolved each item (for accountability within your organization), and notification preferences you set.
Device-Local Information That Stays on Your Device
- Face ID / Touch ID: If you opt in, biometric matching is performed entirely by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework, on your device. FunctionOps never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data — we only store a local yes/no flag on your device recording that you opted in.
- Location: If you grant "While Using the App" location permission, your approximate location is used only to sort the Buildings list by which building you're nearest to right now. This location is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers or stored by us.
Information We Do Not Collect
We distribute FunctionOps through Apple's TestFlight platform, which may collect basic crash and usage data per Apple's own policies. We do not currently use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not show ads, sell data, or use your information for marketing.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
Operate FunctionOps for you: show you the buildings, watch items, compliance items, recognitions, and visits your account is permitted to see, route in-app notifications to the right people, and maintain accountability records (who did what) within your organization.
Improve and expand FunctionOps: understand how the app is actually used, diagnose problems, and inform new features and future versions of the product (including during this beta phase).
Internal research: analyze usage and operational patterns internally, for our own product and business purposes.
This internal use is subject to the same commitment as everywhere else in this policy: your data is never sold, rented, or shared with outside parties for their own purposes. See "Sharing" below.
Where Information Is Stored
FunctionOps is built on Supabase, a hosted database and authentication provider. Your account and operational data are stored in Supabase's infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest per Supabase's standard security practices. We do not run our own servers separate from Supabase.
We cannot guarantee that Supabase does not retain access to authentication credentials through its infrastructure, or that Supabase does not process your data for purposes beyond hosting the app on our behalf. To our knowledge it does not, but we make no warranty to that effect. We encourage you to review Supabase's own privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Sharing
We never sell your information. We never share, rent, or license it to third parties for their own use — not for advertising, not for marketing, not to data brokers, not to anyone. The only parties who ever touch your data are:
- Supabase, as our infrastructure provider, strictly to host and operate the app on our behalf — it does not use your data for its own purposes.
- Apple and iOS, as the platform on which the app runs — Apple's own data practices are governed by Apple's privacy policy and are outside our control. This policy covers data we collect and disclose, not Apple's first-party practices.
- Your organization's designated administrators, who may see data within your organization according to the permissions they've configured — this is expected, since FunctionOps is a workplace tool, not a third party.
- Us, internally, as described in "How We Use Information" above (operating, improving, and researching the app) — this data stays within FunctionOps and is not disclosed outside it.
- If required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process.
Your Choices
Face ID: You can decline or turn off biometric unlock at any time; FunctionOps will fall back to your device's passcode or lock screen as configured by iOS.
Location: You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings at any time; the Buildings tab still works without it.
Account deletion/correction: Email us directly at [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of your account data. Data management is subject to our data retention policy, which is available upon request.
Data Retention
We retain your account and operational data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations. If your account is deactivated, we may retain records as needed for legal obligations or to resolve disputes. You may request deletion by contacting us directly at [email protected].
We may also retain your data pursuant to our internal retention policy, which is available upon request.
Children's Privacy
FunctionOps is a workplace tool for adult employees and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, anyone under the age of 18. No one under the age of 18 may use FunctionOps, except when accessed directly by the developer. Accounts are created by the developer for authorized users only.
Security and Incident Notification
We rely on Supabase's authentication and database security (encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access controls scoped to your permissions), plus optional device-level biometric locking. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a security incident occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify affected individuals directly in the manner and timeframe required by applicable law (including the Texas Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date above; material changes will be communicated to users directly.
